The Keep

Top of the Tower

Image 4: Top of the Tower. View from the top of the ruined round tower. Note the fireplace in a room that has long since lost its flooring. You can get an idea of the magnificent view from this tower by looking at the background.

Frieze and Oriel Windows

Image 5: Frieze and Oriel Windows. This elaborate frieze is found to the left of the tower as you look at it from the direction of picture #2. The frieze bears the inscription:

The frieze has been mutilated on the ends. Note the ornate oriel windows above and below the frieze.

These photographs were taken with a Nikon FG-20 manual SLR, using a Nikkor 24mm - 50mm f2.8 wide angle zoom lens. The images were captured on Kodak Ektachrome slide film.
